How it started
Lovely Day Solar began in 2014, when I moved from Los Angeles to Brazil. At this point, no one had heard of remote work or digital nomads. But many solar installers were dedicated enough to continue sending plans for me to work on abroad.
Prior to learning how to design plans, I managed projects, ran permits, and installed solar panels. I know firsthand what a pain it is to get corrections on plans or run into issues at inspection.
Since then, I've designed thousands of PV and battery systems and worked with dozens of installation companies. We primarily design projects in California, and specialize in analyzing unusual installations and passing difficult jurisdictions.
Lovely Day Solar continues to be a fully remote company. For the past few years, I've been spending most of my time in Cape Town, South Africa.
